Aces' Brandenburg Commits To Houghton
Last week, Wellsboro High School's sharpshooting guard Chloe Brandenburg committed to Houghton Women's Basketball to continue her athletic and academic career.
"I am so blessed and excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Houghton University!"
Brandenburg helped the Select Prospect Aces win 13 of their last 15 games of the 2024 summer, including going 4-2 at the HoopGroup Championships in Atlantic City, New Jersey at the end of July.
"Coaches Curtis and Jeff from Select Prospects... Thank you for creating programs for the off-season, helping me discover the player I am, and developing my skills for the season and life."
Brandenburg used the announcement as an opportunity to thank those who have helped her across her athletic career to date.
"I want to thank my family and friends. Thank you for always being on the sidelines and pushing me to be the best I can be. You are all always there for me and I know I can always count on you all. You are my support system and always encouraging.
"To teammates and Coach Maureen, I can’t wait for this coming season. Thank you for challenging me to be better and the friendships and memories we have made together."
The Wellsboro Hornets will lean on the Senior guard heavily this year as a leader with varsity experience.
"Lastly, to Coach Pellegrino and future team, thank you for this opportunity and seeing something in me! I am so excited to continue this journey with all of you! I can’t wait to be apart of the Highlander Family!"
The Highlanders will be mixing Brandenburg into a strong squad after going 23-5 in the 2023-24 season.
